Baby Swimming

  • You can take baby from birth as long as his/her cord is healed, mothers coming into the water must have finished post birth bleeding before they can come in. Usually around 6 weeks old you can start. You no longer have to wait until they have had their immunisations, however any concerns should be discussed with your Health practicioner.

  • Double protection - we recommend reusable inner and neoprene outer swim nappies for all swimmers until they are potty trained. We now include these nappies as a free gift when you enrol.

  • Babies need to feed regularly but try to feed your baby approximately 1 hour before you swim. You can feed straight after swimming.

  • We aim for a lifetime of love and enjoyment of the water. We break the program into sections based research in child development  Our programme runs from birth to teens.

  • Yes we run professional photo shoots with a reputable local photographer approximately every 3 months. You will also have the opportunity to have a DVD of baby as well.

  • Yes you are both welcome, grandmas and uncles too, however we ask that you speak to your teacher prior to the lesson to see how many are in the session before you both come in. The best opportunity is the weekend workshop where we invite both parents and/or other family members.

  • It will be specific to your child but most babies with a variety of special needs are able to swim. If you child cannot move independently on land they have the freedom in the water to move as they wish.

  • The cost of the initial 10 week aqualight swimming course is £129.99 including your free gift. Subsequent courses are discounted to £99.99 as a thank you for your loyality.

  • Babies are around 18 months to 2 years when they swim but we have had many babies as young as 14 months propelling themselves as much as a meter in the water. It will depend on how often you swim and what age they start.

  • Not at all - we help you to gain confidence in the water and all the pools we use are approximately chest height or lower. Many parents have conquered their own fears of the water by taking their baby swimming, and watching you grow into a confident swimming family is a fantastic experience for all involved. Just remember to stay relaxed and have fun, your baby will do the rest.
